LIVING UNDER A PIECE OF WOOD – CAN WE BUILD HIM A HOUSE?

Sometimes we have such special opportunities to turn the lives of animals right side up again. Today, we are hoping to help the beautiful dog named Coddy. He lives in Travnik, Bosnia and was very recently rescued by Anela Elkazevic who is also building a new dog sanctuary that we are helping to sponsor. Anela lives very humbly in a single-room house and her young son at home. She cares for so many street dogs each day, but Coddy was not free. He was living in a deeply abusive environment and she had to take him out of there immediately, even knowing that she had no safe place to bring him. For now, she’s simply propped a large piece of wood against the wall to offer some shade and rain protection. She is hoping we can help quickly to set up a better shelter.

The cost to get a dog house and a spacious kennel for Coddy is just under $500. Anela will work with Coddy, and over time, begin to introduce him to other dogs (he’s currently not good with others) with the hope that he can eventually come to live at the dog sanctuary which is currently under construction. There he’ll have lots of forest and grassy fields to run in. But for now, he simply needs more than a piece of wood. He needs a safe and solid temporary home. And Anela will walk him and spend time with him each day while he learns to trust.
