Cows Eye, After 9 Days
Tweet |
It’s been 9 days after Cow’s eye debridement and the removal of that “flap” under the ulcer. But his eyedidn’tseem to be healing. He also hates the flushing nowadays (previously, he did not mind it at all), so I’ve had my fair share of being scratched. Now, Cow’s scratches are quite lethal.
So I brought Cow back for a check-up today.
Here’s the verdict:
1. The ulcer is half the size of what it was before. Yay!
2. But why is Cow resisting the saline flush? This is because previously, nothing was happening to his non-healing ulcer, so he didn’t mind anything. But now, the ulcer is starting to heal, so it would be more painful as “something is happening now”.
So, is “something happening” better than “nothing happening”? Apparently yes, because a non-healing injury is also not good. So, it’s a case of something being better than nothing, and we can only hope that this is going towards “something good”.
3. There is no infection. Yay!
4. If we opt for doing the bare minimum so as not to be too overly eager in “fixing things” and just let the body heal, all we need to continue doing now is to flush the eye to ensure it’s clean.
Then, let healing take its own course, in its own time.
I’m not sure if Cow is grooming himself here or trying to do a “facepalm”.
Cow to Indy: You’re lucky you don’t have to take rides in that carrier…
