I wrote the above news on 3rd August. It was about Doby's perpetual skin problem which has baffled many vets for about two years now. Nothing seemed to work.
An anonymous person posted a comment about using coconut oil and sulphur (see below in blue). I informed Meiji immediately and she concurred that someone else had also told her about this home remedy but she had totally forgotten about it!
Well, Meiji immediately used it and this morning, she called to say Doby's skin has healed significantly! It has only been 9 days or so.
Thank you, Anon, for sharing this piece of valuable information.
Meanwhile, Meiji has also taken Doby for a check-up at UPM as he seemed to have some redness on his upper palate and has started coughing.
We are sponsoring Doby's treatment in this, too.
We hope Doby will get well soon from the cough soon and have beautiful skin again!

Read your posting on Doby's skin problem. If i may share some insights:
i used to have a dog with permenant skin problem as well, she had the same simptons ie bald/white patches on her skin. I brought her to like 3 or 4 different vets and each time they prescribed different medication which seems to reduce/cure it momentarily but the simptoms seems to make a come back each time, this continues from she was 4 months to almost 2 years old and at one point of time, it became so bad she requires weekly jab for 3 months and lost all her hair - however one of the vet suggested that i tried the home remedy of applying cocunut oil to her body and sprinkle it with sulphur powder (yellow powder which can be readily bought from chinese medicinal shops) before bathing the dog, the oil of course can be applied daily but the sulphur powder treatment comes in once a week. My dog condition not only improved but she never had the same problem again. it is worth a shot, see if this inexpensive method can actually cure Doby.
