Appeal for Information:

Dog allegedly abandoned at Hougang St 51

[SPCA Ref. No.: AH 128025]

On 18 April 2015 (Saturday) at about 8.30am, a dog resembling a Shih-Tzu was found, allegedly abandoned, at a Senior Citizens’ Fitness Corner near Blk 557 Hougang St 51. The dog was found to be in poor physical condition with flaky skin and overgrown nails.

The dog is in SPCA’s custody at the moment, and we are also appealing to keen adopters to come forward. (Keen adopters are urged to provide their full contact details, and e-mail shelter@spca.org.sg.)

The SPCA is urging anyone with information, in relation to this incident, to call its 24-hour hotline 62875355 (ext. 9), or e-mail inspector@spca.org.sg. Information provided will be treated in the strictest of confidence.

* Under the revised Animals and Birds Act, anyone found guilty of cruelty to animals, including abandonment of any animal, can be imprisoned for up to 18 months, fined up to $15,000, or both.
