A New Toy! (or A New Threat?)
Tweet | ![]() |
Two days ago, our garden maintenance team came over to deliver the misai kucing plants (yay! we have misai kucing now) and along with that, came a pleasant surprise.
One of their clients had requested that they help take away a children’s slide from the clients’ house, so they thought (now, bless their kind souls) that our cats might like it as a new toy.
Would your cats like it, they asked.
Why not, I thought. How very kind of you to think of them….
Recycle, reuse…especially when it’s in such good condition too.
Indy was the very first (brave) soldier to investigate this new “thing”.
Next was Tabs.
Then, came Cleo.
While Indy and Tabs sniffed at it and ran away, Cleo’s curiosity was definitely piqued.
When one already has a condo, what else does one need…ever?
It may be hostile…but an offensive intervention may not be necessary at this point in time.
Peek-a-boo!
And so, as with all things new, the cats, the highly intelligent beings that they are, would need some time before they trust this new object which had landed in their territory.
As of yesterday, they had discovered that that blue sloped platform acts pretty well as a spraying board, so…sigh, that’s what it has been used for….so far.
I try to find a silver lining behind every cloud, so if by using the slide as a spraying board, they would spray less in the room, isn’t that good too?
The cats:What do you expect us think when you place that thing near the sandpit? Won’t we think it’s just an extension to our toilet?
