LOVE IS PATIENT. LOVE IS KIND.

When children are encouraged to love, what lessons should we teach them?

How wonderful it would be if they learn that love is: care, understanding, support, giving, respect, greatness, compromise and appreciation. Love is not: selfishness, possession, abuse, hurt, discrimination, or intolerance.

We recently visited the children at Pat�s Schoolhouse Claymore to share with them some ideas for being kind to animals. They now know that it is kinder to adopt an animal companion from a pet shelter instead of buying one from a pet shop or puppy mill, and that they should commit themselves to taking good care of their animal companion the moment they decide to bring him or her home. They learned that animals from pet shelters are equally lovable and deserving of a home to call their own.

We love sharing the message of kindness and respect to animals with the little ones! Thank you to Pat�s Schoolhouse Claymore for inviting us.
