I just heard the Mimi, Mayo's resident cat has been put on drips. Don't have any other details.
Dodo, Mimi's brother, just passed away last month of sudden kidney failure. They are the same age.
Mimi, photo taken just two days ago, when I went to the clinic.
Please pray for Mimi to be well and free from suffering.
P.S. It is really sad that we seem to be hearing quite a few cases of kidney failure. I suppose it happens as a cat ages or for those who have been born as strays. When I visited the other day, the vet's assistant was telling me that he's been quite upset that some clients had been taking the liberty of feeding the clinic cats with all kinds of wetfood without asking permission, or worse, despite being told repeatedly not to do so. The reason they gave was that the cats looked hungry. As far as I can see, Dodo, RayRay and Mimi are far from looking malnourished in any conceivable way. Obesity is hazardous to a cat's health (or to any animal for that matter, including us humans).
