It’s been a long time since I shared our meat-free meals! Well, when I was sick, I could barely eat two spoonfuls per meal and even that had to be forced down. So, food hadn’t exactly been on my mind for quite some time!
Well, we’re back now and I’m into making smoothies…
Here’s a good tip:http://www.foodandnutrition.org/Stone-Soup/May-2013/How-and-Why-You-Should-Freeze-Fruit/
Actually, it was the lady who sold me the Vitamix who taught me how to freeze fruits to store and make smoothies at any time.
And when you want to make the smoothies, just take out one box and add an orange or some bananas, an apple, carrot or cucumber. Pour in a bit of water. Then, blend away!
Oh, I also add soy powder, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, almonds, practically anything you like!
It’s so deliciously nutritious and there’s no need to add any sugar. Because most of the cut-fruits are frozen, it’s cold enough. No need to add ice cubes which might dilute your smoothie.
We’re having a smoothie craze at home right now, so my freezer is full with boxes of cut fruits.
It’s real fun!
If you are into blending and freezing, here’s more:
And talking about cooking again, I made vegetarian curry today!
There’s carrot, potato, brinjal, tomato, long beans and cabbage. I used organic curry powder.
I wonder if there’s going to be GST on spices. Some shops aren’t even sure when I asked…hmm. Does anyone know?
In any case, bon appetit!
