NEWBORN KITTENS RESCUED IN POURING RAIN

Animal rescue volunteer Encarni was walking her dogs in Barcelona in pouring rain yesterday when she saw a box on the walkway. Inside were 4 newborn kittens, their umbilical cords still attached and without a mother cat.There was mommy was nowhere to be seen and the box was slowly filling with water meaning the kittens would have drowned to freezing cold rain water any minute.

Encarni wrapped the kittens up to her shirt and took them with her. So far all of them are alive. They are very tiny but they seem to have the spirit. They are moving and eating.

We’ve sent a donation for their veterinary visit and our hope is that they will all make it through these delicate first few days and weeks. They are being kept quite warm and Encarni is experienced in caring for newborns.
