5 MORE DAYS LEFT before our Warmth for Walnut campaign ends, and we still need your help to reach our goal!
We wanted to give you a quick update to let you know how Walnut – one of the newly rescued tortoises at the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre and the poster boy for our campaign – is getting on. Heres a short video clip of Walnut, taken today. Our Animal Care Officer, Sarah, who is overseeing Walnuts care, explains: “Walnut is eating better and is more active then when we took him in. His leg wounds are also healing, with the skins natural colour coming back slowly but surely. However, his hind legs have no nails and, sadly, they are unlikely to grow back.”
For Walnut, there is hope for a better future, but he still has a long road ahead before he makes a full recovery. He deserves a second chance at life after all he has been through, as do all of the other animals we rescue week after week.
We therefore urge you to make a donation and enable us to give them the enclosures they deserve:
