If you have not watched but intend to do so, do not read on.
Important: Do NOT leave the cinema the moment the credits come up - there is some more and that's the last part which is really important. Today, one-third of the audience left and missed this part!
The price of vivisection...
Looking at the amount and extent of cruelty inflicted by humans on animals through the ages, whether it is through vivisection or other forms of cruelty (and this includes eating them), one cannot help but cheer the apes on as they went on a rampage in vengeance.
"Caesar IS home."
The take-home message for me is what I've always believed in - we have absolutely no right to harm the animals for our own benefits, and this includes using them for testing our drugs and products. That is plain bullying. All the animals want is to be left alone in the jungle. We have no right infiltrating into their territory because the earth belongs to them, too.
Compared to the series of 5 movies in the late sixties, this one carries basically the same message, and has a few very touching moments. It is also heart-wrenching at certain scenes.
