HELP ANIMALS THIS FESTIVE SEASON! MEET GARNET.
This tiny fellow here is Garnet, an African spurred tortoise, native to Africa.
Sadly, he is just one of thousands of tortoises captured from the wild and smuggled around the world to supply the illegal pet trade. Most of them die along to way, and those who survive get sold to buyers who frequently are not be prepared to care for them permanently, as these beautiful creatures can often live much longer than we can.
Garnet was found abandoned outside a veterinary clinic in Singapore. Thanks to the veterinary team for alerting us, Garnet is now being cared for and under observation in our quarantine here at the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre, together with Walnut, a red-footed tortoise.
Garnet, along with Walnut, will directly benefit from your compassion and support this festive season.
Help give them the lives they truly deserve, as we raise funds to improve the enclosures we have, from now until the end of February (less than two weeks away!)
As the saying goes, when we give, we receive. Do click this link to provide warmth for them:

Do have a prosperous and cruelty-free new year ahead!
