BIKE VICTIM OF MOUNTAIN BIKE COLLISION
Bike, a young male long-tailed macaque, was rescued on the 6th of February 2015 at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve (Hindhede Bike Trail). He had been hit by a mountain bike. As a result, he suffered lacerations to his head, and a puncture wound on his nose which cut through to his upper lip. Due to the significant impact from the collision, he is still recovering from head trauma. His movements are uncoordinated and it is still uncertain if he will suffer temporary or permanent disability. The vets and nurses at Animal Recovery and Veterinary Referral Center (ARVC) are doing their best for him and providing him with optimal veterinary care. We are all hoping he makes a full recovery and can return to the wild as soon as possible.
We thank a member from the public and NParks for contacting the ACRES 24-Hour Wildlife Rescue Hotline (97837782) to alert us to Bikes plight. Please consider making a contribution to help us rescue macaques like Bike. Thank you.
