GRANDMA’s HOUSE TO RECEIVE ANOTHER RELIEF SHIPMENT

The Parscov Shelter in Romania is a home-based rescue center run by Grandma Sevastiva and her daughter Mariana. Together they care for 80 dogs and 55 cats. A year ago, the rescuers were in a desperate struggle. They would run an old car a few times a day to get warm as they had no heat.They were hungry and Grandma was in true need of medical care, but the women�s only care was to make sure the animals they had saved would have enough food.

Intrepid volunteer Tamara Raab from Germany asked us to help as she went about a mission to transform the rescue center into a true home that would be comfortable for both the women and the animals they care for. Dozens of people donated household items and volunteers began renovating and painting. Before long, a lovely little house took shape and the animals and their rescuers were snug and happy. Grandma finally spent time with a doctor and her health needs were addressed.

This year, the charity Helft Handeln has been providing ongoing aid in the form of food for the animals and veterinary services. They�ve been hoping to make another drive from Germany with vital supplies and simply couldn�t raise the funds for a truck to journey that far. We�ve sponsored this aid mission and the relief team will arrive in April with another round of essential goodies for Grandma�s dogs and cats (spayed/neutered). In this community, none of these animals would stand a chance without the love of “grandma’s house”.
