You just have to know the story of Emma. She was discovered in a heap of garbage in Bulgaria. Our rescue teammate Tsvetelina Vrancheva tried unsuccessfully to coax the dog to her, but it simply wasn't meant to be. Emma was simply too sad, too sick and too untrusting. But what Emma didn't know is that Tsvetelina was no ordinary passerby. Unlike all the others who walked by each day, Tsvetelina was an angel in disguise.
On the third night of trying, the cage door quickly closed behind Emma and you would have thought the world stopped for a second. The nighttime photo here shows Emma just a few seconds after she was 'trapped' in the kennel. Tsvetelina could barely breathe with excitement and every cell in her body danced with relief.
"All I need is the power of love," Tsvetelina implored followers on Facebook. She was begging, truly begging for help for Emma to receive veterinary care.
It has now been nearly a year and can you see the difference? Emma has been healed. Harmony Fund has just made the final payment on her veterinary costs. And the best part about it.....it only cost 50 cents.
It's true. Our monthly supporters give an average of $15 a month (about 50 cents a day) and their donations helped in Emma's veterinary care and also paid to help build Tsvetelina's rescue center which cares for so many dogs throughout the year.
Today we celebrate all of you who LOVE THE UNDERDOG as much as we do. Please let this be one giant thank you note for all you do to help thousands of animals across the planet all year long.
