HELP THE MACAQUES HAVE A SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE.
Manuka, a young long-tailed macaque, was found badly injured and taking shelter in a backyard. The injuries he had sustained appeared to be due to collision with a vehicle. Despite all our efforts to revive him, he sadly passed away. Not every macaque rescue has a positive ending, but let us recall the successful rescue stories.
In 2013, we managed to rescue, rehabilitate and release Mia, who had suffered a ruptured pelvis, probably due to a collision with a vehicle. In 2014, another macaque, Suzzie , who had been found caught by an illegal snare, was successfully released back into the wild after undergoing four months of intensive rehabilitation. Both macaques are now back with their families.
This work is ongoing, and we need funds to continue our rescue efforts, as well as run campaigns to protect Singapores macaques. The macaques face multiple challenges each day, and they need us to be their voice. Funds are continually needed to ensure that the Macaque Rescue Van is fully equipped and ready to go to the aid of any macaque in need. Funds are also needed to continue with our macaque education and outreach projects.
Please consider making a contribution to this cause. Thank you.
