JANE DOE’s LIFE IS IN DANGER

Jane Doe leads an emerging animal welfare association in Spain. We’ve blurred her face and changed her name because her legal reform efforts to bring prosecution to animal abusers have put her in grave danger. During her first couple of court cases, Jane’s lawyer wasn�t even allowed into the courtroom and even the judges laughed. No one is laughing now.

Jane�s animal welfare league now has over active cases against people who have committed acts of extreme violence and cruelty to dogs.Even a few police officers have started to turn to her for help when they come across extreme animal abuse. The cases against hunters and gypsies and an influential veterinarian have put Jane in grave danger. Some corrupt police officers have been giving out her home address. Because one of Jane�s cases involves a crime ring associated with the local dog pound, she is now the single link that stands between potential jail time and freedom for several offenders. Jane fears that she could be murdered at any moment.

�I am so truly scared,� Jane said. �The only time I leave the house is to go to the vets, or to a rescue, or to meet the lawyer. I am afraid to go out, I don�t walk my dogs. I would not dare. I can�t go to visit friends and I would never leave the house at night. I live a horrible life here and my only joy is saving animals and seeing them in their new homes.�

Harmony Fund has been working with Jane’s animal welfare team for 3 years. We now need help to immediately move Jane and her 10 rescue dogs to a safe location. It�s not exactly a nice place at 300 Euros a month, but it�s far away from those who wish to harm her and will protect the dogs who will most likely be the first targets for retribution.

All donations today will go toward Jane Doe’s animal rescue efforts and to relocate her temporarily to a safe house.
