Updates On 3rd Feb 2015

We previously updated you on the 5th grade students at The American School of The Hague who are busy fundraising for the new dog hospital.

The children were recently visited by veterinarian Dr Piet and his dog Gijs. Dr Piet has done a lot of volunteer work around the world, including in Thailand, and adopted Gijs 8 years ago.

Dr Piet talked to the children about his voluntary work in Thailand, where, not only does he help dogs in need, but also helps rescue sea turtles and last week performed surgery on a goldfish! Dr Piet has a TV show in Holland about helping pets in need and the children were very excited and motivated by his presentation.

Gijs also got plenty of attention and belly rubs from 95 children! In the 3 weeks since the children started this year’s fundraising, they have raised a total of €2,437, meaning they only need another €163 to fund their second examination table for the new hospital!

Well done to all!
