My name is Wilma. I am a 2 year old girl, who was stolen from the streets of northern Thailand for the illegal dog meat trade.

I was crushed into a cage with so many other dogs and driven away on a truck to cross the border out of Thailand. I could not understand why these people were doing this to me.

What happened next was a miracle… The truck we were travelling on was stopped and we were taken to a shelter for dogs just like me – all rescued from the illegal dog meat trade.

Some days are good and some days are bad. Living with 100s of other dogs is very stressful… I am learning to cope, but I am not used to life in a shelter.

I long for my own human to love, someone who is patient and caring, and will help me become the confident dog I was before all of this horror.
