From Jessy Lian:
Dear Dr.Chan,
More than a month ago, a pregnant female cat wandered into my neighbourhood & I started to feed her. Not long after that (early July), I notice her tummy become flat & her nipples are swollen with milk. But her kittens were no where to be found & I don't know where is her hide out place.
Then, about a week ago I found 4 kitten and the mother cat inside my outer garden (a small garden outside my gate). Three of them are active & playful. They were alert when they saw me approaching & hissed at me. But the forth one seems week & always sleep. I notice the kitten (I temporary named it Jaguar) walks wobbly & likes to follow the mother cat. Jaguar's eyes also have some infection (please refer to attached photos).
I talk to my Mom about AnimalCare & asked whether she would like to bring Jaguar to one of your panel clinic for treatment. And then we will need to foster him/her, feed him/her the medicine. But my Mom refuse to foster Jaguar, but willing to bring Jaguar to your panel clinic for treatment (she wanted AnimalCare to subsidy)
I told her I would try to post on Facebook & Petfinder to seek for fosterer. And I also asked her:"What if no one is willing to foster Jaguar?", then my Mom replied:"Send it to SPCA lor!". I'm speechless after hearing her giving me such answer.
You see, she love cats & our family adopted two kittens from the back alley 5 years ago when their mother was bitten to death by a pack of 5-6 stray dogs. Our family love this two cats to bits! My Mom would manja the cat so much, like let them sleep on her chest & buy their fav Fancy Feast canned food that cost rm3.4/can (from Carrefour). I don't understand why she would ask me to send Jaguar to SPCA?!?
As you would already know that I have 5 cats under my care, living at my back alley. And 1 of them had Leukemia, and has weak immune system. I'm giving him Vetri-DMG once every day to boost his immune system, but still I can't risk by fostering a sick kittten.
Sigh......Dr.Chan please arrange for an appointment with your panel clinic ASAP, and also post this on your blog to seek for fosterer. Thanks again.
We are arranging an appointment for Jessy's Jaguar at our panel vet, pending Jessy's reply on the date.
If you can help foster Jaguar, please contact Jessy Lian on 016-2988636.
