We Received A Frantic Call That A Dog Had Been Hit By A Car And Was Seriously Injured… So Began Shimmer’s Story – Read On For The Latest Update…

We told you some weeks about ago Shimmer, a handsome two year old boy who arrived at our shelter in horrendous pain. We had received a call from someone who fed the stray dogs in his area and had seen Shimmer get hit by a passing car.

Shimmer was in desperate need of help. He needed an x-ray so we could assess the extent of his injuries, but as our current clinic does not have one, and we are trying to fundraise for a new dog hospital, he had to be sent off-site.

The x-ray showed that this poor boy had fractured his left legs, both front and back. On his return to our shelter, our vets had to insert pins into Shimmer’s legs. This treatment was funded by some very special Soi Dog supporters, whose monthly donations have saved Shimmer and thousands like him.

Shimmer was determined to get back on his feet again and was soon trotting around the exercise yard outside the clinic. A few weeks later, and the pins in one of his legs were removed, followed by those in the other leg just recently.

Shimmer has made such a wonderful recovery from his ordeal but it would have been such a different story were it not for those who donated towards his urgent medical care. Just a few dollars a week is all it takes to care for sick and injured stray animals like this, and give them a second chance at life.

Please help the many that still need your support. Click on Shimmer’s pictures for more information.

Every day, Soi Dog Foundation picks up sick and injured stray dogs and cats. With no government funding, we urgently need your support to save them.
