SSPCA’S RAINY DAY TIPS FOR PET OWNERS

1. STAY DRY-Wet or damp fur is an ideal incubation area for fungi and bacteria. Towel dry or blow dry your pet’s fur and paws everytime they come in from the rain.

2. FUN INDOORS- It is hard to take pets for a walk everyday during rainy season so making your dogs climb up the stairs and leaving it freely in your closed indoor garden/ car porch will keep the dogs active.Toys provide countless hours of fun and at the same time encourage your pets to get moving and build a better bond with you as you play.

3. DRY BEDDING- There is nothing better than having a warm, dry bed to sleep in during the rainy season. If your pet is used to spending time outdoors, a covered resting area with dry bedding should be provided. During the rainy season, any surface gets cold, and this could harm your pet’s joints. The bedding should be changed frequently to prevent bacteria from accumulating.
