Cathy Thong has been trying to catch two (intact) males to be castrated since these two have been terrorising the area around her house.
She managed to catch Mr White and he is already neutered now. The other one is a Mr Black.
Last night, she successfully trapped a jet black cat, suspected to be Mr Black.
But this morning, it turned out to be the wrong Mr Black as this black cat is a neutered male.
Cathy writes:
So last night's capture turned out a castrated male. He is definitely not the targeted cat since he doesn't have mange but it's very hard to tell them apart since they are both jet black, especially in the dark. Poor Mr Black has been released where I caught him last night. He's not happy at all but he's okay.
I'm already castrated....why am I caught AGAIN??
On my way back to release Mr Black, I saw this white cat, sitting forlornly on the kerb by the side of the road. He definitely looked like he had mange. After releasing Mr Black, I went back to the kerb and Mr Pure White was still there. I parked my car, and went over with the towel. He took a look at me, but before he could respond, I had him in the carrier and back to the vet. He's very thin, but fiesty.
The vet said he will be neutered later this evening. I will pay for his mange treatment.
I will try again this afternoon to trap the RIGHT black cat. Hubby thinks I am quite mad to sit by the back door, waiting patiently for hours for him to appear but at the same time very supportive.
Please let me know more about the ginger cat you would like me to help capture (and where he likes to hang out). If I am successful, you will have your prize delivered to you in a carrier for further action. :)
Now, I'm off for some lunch and then it's back the long waiting game again!
The vet called me just now to inform me that Mr Pure White was neutered at 6pm (because the fasting was necessary), but he was taking a longer-than-usual duration to get up. This may be due to the fact that he is elderly and is rather anaemic. But he is fidgeting and was already waking up when the vet called. Mr Pure White will stay a night at the vet's. I'll check on him tomorrow morning.
