Just last Sat (3 Jan) afternoon, SPCA rescued a community dog from being trapped between the metal rails, of a fence, at Old Choa Chu Kang Road.
The dog, a brown Cross-Breed, was observed to have been stuck in its tight spot for some time. (It mightve attempted to jump through the fence, leading to its predicament.)
Our rescue officer, Eugene, then attempted to free the dog, nudging rearwards its shoulder blades, one and then the other, through the gap. (It helped that the dog was suitably obliging. It was also physically fine, though a little shaken.)
Seconds after it was freed, it scurried into the distance.
We thank our informer, Mr Cheong, for alerting us to the dogs distress.
Members of the public who find any animal to be sick, injured and/or in distress from the streets are urged to alert the SPCA at its 24-hour emergency hotline 62875355 ext 9. We will accord top priority to clear emergency cases.
