Mdm. Tan received a call from an unknown lady yesterday afternoon while she was driving and insists that she is outside the shelter and that there is a dog she wants to surrender in.

Mdm. Tan told her to hang on till she arrives. Unfortunately, by the time Mdm. Tan reaches the shelter, the dog was tied outside, at the gate under the drizzling rain and the lady is nowhere to be seen. Mdm. Tan took the dog in and to her horror, she found a huge tumour-like growth at her vagina.

Mdm. Tan tried to call the lady by her number numerous times but she refused to pick up any of the calls. In fact, she purposely cut off the calls.

We are seriously very disheartened by such character. How can a person be so irresponsible as to just dump a dog outside a shelter when what the dog needed most is a vet?! Does she really think what she did was right? By just dumping her problem to someone else?

We hope that the owner of this dog read about this and will contact us to do a proper surrender procedure so that at least we know the medical history of this dog. Dumping does not solve the problem. It just show what a coward you are!

At the meantime, we will be bringing the dog to consult a vet tomorrow and after which we will raise fund to pay for her medical bill. We shall keep the Public updated on her progress.

SPCA Seberang Perai

The SPCA Seberang Perai is a society registered in September 2005. Our primary aim is to reduce the population of stray animals or possibly a zero stray population in a humane manner. With lesser strays or no strays at all, the loving value of animals will be greatly increased and you can be sure that humans will shower more love for their pets and be responsible pet owners. The problem should not only be shouldered by our Society as the public must also understand the urgent need to control the pet population and give their whole-hearted support to all our projects for the undertaking to be successful. Then we will achieve a clean and hygienic environment for the community. As a no killing organization, we are embarking on a two-prong approach towards the problem i.e public education and sterilization of the stray animals.
