My name is Cleo and my life started on the streets of Phuket, Thailand which is a very different place to grow up. It wasn’t easy and I rarely got affection from any humans but it took a turn for the worse when I was thrown into a truck full of ten or so other street dogs, and dumped into a horrible dog prison.

My quiet, gentle nature was not enough to keep me safe in this horrid place. I had my ears torn apart by some of the large, aggressive dogs. They bullied me a lot and life with about 300 other dogs was hell.

Everything changed one day when a lovely human visited the dog prison and scooped me up. She took me to the vet for a check-up and then to the Doggie Heaven rescue centre!

I was so happy to finally make friends and no longer be bullied. My ears and skin have been healing ever since, but because they are not perfect yet, I am often overlooked by potential adopters.

I am very healthy now and I can’t understand why looks are so important – the humans at Doggie Heaven constantly tell me that I am beautiful. They say I look like a dog Cleopatra would have sitting next to her throne!

I am 4 years old and while I like to relax at the rescue centre, I also have lots of energy for my daily walks. I also love to run and think I’d beat any dog at the rescue if we had a race! I have SO much love to give and would forever give licks to the person who decides to open their home and their heart to me.

I am obedient both on and off leash; I love people, kids and other dogs, too. At times, I can be a bit wary when meeting a new male human, but as long as I have someone there to let me know I do not have to be afraid any more, I will be as sweet as ever.

Is there anyone out there who needs a running/cuddle partner? I sure could use the love.

Remember, I am not a Soi Dog Foundation dog. That means if you have any questions you need to EMAIL sherin.peace@gmail.com and visit the Doggie Heaven website to see more photos of me http://www.doggieheaven.net/
