The Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore is over but we have one final race before we can hit our target amount of 5K! #wipeoutanimalcruelty #carwash #forACRES
“I’m Coming Home”
Suzzie was a victim of illegal snares – a cruelty done by one of us. Her family had to leave her as she couldn’t keep up with them. Due to the severity of the injury, she fractured her left arm and lost 4 of her fingers. She had to undergo 2 major operations, which left vets nearly amputating her arm. Despite struggling with funding for her medical supplies, we managed to pull her through 4 long months of intensive treatment & rehabilitation.
Usually, Long-Tailed Macaques live with tight family ties, and when one has left the group for a time as long as 4 months, they may be an outcast from the troop. But somehow, nature has its miracles, as Suzzie, upon release, was accepted again by her family, and has now adapted well to her environment with the help of her family, despite having lost 4 fingers.
If you see a Long-Tailed Macaque without 4 fingers on her left hand, just know that she is one of the many lucky animals that we chanced upon.
Suzzie is but one story. There are many more stories of animals caught in illegal snares in Singapore. Some survive as a result of it but there are others who are still in need of urgent help.
In the spirit of giving, help us give these animals a second chance at life by making a contribution to this cause, at:

or by coming down for our last fundraiser of the year, the Wipe Out Animal Cruelty! ACRES Charity Carwash. Thank you.
