We visited Napoleon and Chitta Today and both are doing fine.

We are hoping that Napoleon’s surgery will be a success and that his tiny body is able to fight off the infection. According to the vet, if the existing wound shrinks in half, there is nothing to worry.

The vet also says there is puss in the wound but it’s only in the surface. Currently some parts of the injury have been covered by skin near the neck.

We were happy to note that Napoleon was no longer whining and crying as he did previously and deduce this must be because he is no longer in pain. Chong, the pup’s rescuer had also come to visit the little tyke when we were there.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed that all will work out well for Napoleon.

Chitta’s surgery also appears to be a success as the reconstruction work appears to make it look as if she has a nose. Some tubes have also been inserted so that the nostrils will remain open.

Once the surgical wounds have healed and the area around the nasal cavity is stable, the tubes will be removed to leave holes for Chitta to breathe.

She appeared to have lost some weight and this is understandable given the pain and torment she had undergone.

BTW her name is apparently Mimi but I think she should go by her new name Chitta to signify a form of symbolic rebirth – yes, indeed Chitta would have died by the end of that fateful day had not Ain cared to keep on calling us and pleading with us to remove her quickly from the scene of the incident.
