From Jessy:
Dear Dr.Chan,
I'm going to share with you my another rescue mission. Here goes:
I found a brown male puppy wandering near my neighbourhood on Tuesday. This cute little puppy is so so friendly, playful, happy & active. He lie down on his side & wanted me to pat/scratch his tummy. I then notice that his right hind leg is straight (cannot bend). He walks/run by dragging his hind leg, he doesn't seem to be in pain. I was afraid that his leg might be broken a long time ago. And I suspect that he's an abandon puppy, cos he looks well feed.
I then contact MDDB through email & phone calls, and was told to send the puppy to Klang on Friday. So, I packed all the necessary things (eg: carrier, newspaper, big towel, food, water, and GPS is a MUST, cos I haven't drive to Klang by myself before) and start my long journey (43km) at 1.25pm.
Unfortunately the puppy had car sick and I have to stop twice by the road side to change the newspaper & clean the carrier. I hold him real tight with 1 hand, and use the other to do the cleaning. I can hear plenty of trucks & lorries passes by, and was praying hard that the puppy will not run away.
I reached MDDB's half way home around 2.30pm, but the person in-charge (Wani) was still at work. The indian worker let me in & settle down the puppy, and we chat for awhile. The puppy was uneasy inside the cage, so with the indian worker's permission, I carry the puppy to their front porch to play with it & take photos with the puppy, while waiting for Wani.
Around 5.20pm we were at MDDB's panel clinic, and the puppy was named Patrick. He's estimated to be 4-6 mths old, and he's healthy without any skin/health problem. According to the vet, Patrick was born disabled with the knee & thigh bones of his right leg being fused together without a joint. As a result his right leg cannot be bent.
He will be given vaccination these few days & is up for adoption immediately. Those interested to give Patrick a loving home, please call 019-3576477.
I would LOVE to adopt Patrick, but I can't, I have my hand full with 5 cats (1 with Leukemia). Wani said that I'm attached to Patrick, but I think it's the other way round, cos Patrick follow me closely. I receive so much love from him, so I give it back by praying hard that he'll find a new loving family to love him forever........
End of story.
Thank you for your valuable time in reading my story Dr.Chan ^_^
Best Regards, Jessy Lian
