CAR STOPS TO SAVE MAMA & PUP IN POURING RAIN

Rescuer Edina Pasic of Sarajevo was driving back home from a rescue when she came upon an unexpected mission to save two more.

“On our way back the rain was poring and it was dark,” Edina said. “We dove slowly because the road was horrible. No houses, no living beings, just cars rushing by. Suddenly, we saw something tiny running towards our car in the middle of the road. We pulled over and it turned out to be a mom and her baby, the size of a cat. Soaking wet, freezing. We gave them some food and they started eating fast. We didn’t know what to do with them. We looked at each other, at them and realized that they didn`t have any future there. We knew that it was just a matter of time before she or her baby was hit by a car.”

“We brought them into the car and placed them by my feet. The baby wagged her tail and fell asleep right away. But the mother… The mother was indescribable… The whole way to Sarajevo, for 3-4 hours, she didn`t remove her head from my leg… She kept looking at me with her wet eyes. She looked me in my eyes… Can you believe it, she had enough room to curl up by her baby and get some sleep, finally warm and dry, but she didn`t move away from me. I`ve never seen eyes like her, so much pain in them, but at the same time so much gratitude.”
