Appeal for Information – Dog allegedly abandoned at Jurong West Block 990, on 23 Oct 2014 (Thurs) morning

On 23 October 2014 at about 8:45 am, we received a call from a concerned member of the public about a dog allegedly abandoned in a light blue carrier left by the dustbin (near lift lobbies A and B) at Blk 990 Jurong West St 93s multi-storey car park (see photo).

We are appealing to the public for any information or witnesses who may be able to identify the culprit(s) responsible for this cruel act, so that the necessary action can be taken against them.

If you can help, please call the SPCA 24-hr Hotline at 6287 5355 ext. 9 &/or send an e-mail to inspector@spca.org.sg and depinspector@spca.org.sg (and quote the Reference Number AH124785).

The dog, according to our veterinarians, is a white, female, Chihuahua. She is estimated to be about 10 years old, and has a generally sweet disposition (though she is still adapting to our shelter environment). She is afflicted with chronic skin problems, and her skin shows hyper-pigmentation. She is currently in SPCA’s custody, and we hope to have her adopted or fostered soon.

We urge committed potential adopters/fosterers who can provide tender, loving care to this dog, to contact SPCA at the abovementioned phone number and email addresses. (Potential adopters/fosterers, please also quote Reference Number AH124785, if you are keen.)

In Singapore, cruelty to animals is a crime. Under the Animals and Birds Act (pending revision), anyone who is found guilty of such an offence including abandonment of any animal, can be imprisoned for up to 12 months, fined up to $10,000, or both.
