SPCA rescues cat caught between panes and frame.

Earlier this morning (Oct 14, 2014), we received a distress call about a cat trapped between the window panes and frame of a second floor flat unit along Merpati Road. The cream/seal point-coloured tabby was actually firmly wedged between adjacent panes and the frame.

Our rescue officer, Daniel, had to nudge the cat slowly down a pane, in order to loosen the grip on the cat. A catchpoles noose was then gingerly looped over the cat, enabling the cat to be heaved into a cat carrier for its safety. The cat wasnt ear-tipped, and its owner, if any, could not be identified, thus it was suspected to be a community cat. Apart from appearing flustered, it was alright and unharmed.

The cat has been brought to SPCAs shelter. The cat is presently recovering from its earlier distress, but faring well. SPCA would either put it up for adoption or return it to the community it came from.

(We thank our caller, Mr Tan Tze Kiat, for alerting us to the cats distressed state.

Members of the public can, likewise, help us to help any injured, sick and/or distressed animal, by calling our 24-hour emergency hotline at 62875355 extension 9, any day, any time. Clear emergency cases would be given top priority.)
