One month ago, Loo, an animal rescuer, wrote to me to request help for treating a distemper dog. Distemper is a very deadly disease, previously regarded as fatal and un-treatable (the poor dogs are usually put down), but now, the symptoms are treatable and can be managed with modern medicine.
Take a look.
These are pictures taken more than a month ago:
And here are the latest photos sent last night:
(I hope that's not a cigarette!)
Treatment for distemper is long-drawn affair. As you can see from the photographs, there is slight improvement in the dog. She/he will be needing lots of good nutrition to pump her/him up.
The dog's treatment is fully sponsored from our funds. Loo paid for the boarding and food.
In the past, we have got three distemper dogs treated (all three were rescued from the Klang Dog Pound), and treatment was very expensive. Sean and Tara survived and are now thriving with their adopted families where they are loved to bits. Wendy succumbed to the disease after a brave one-month battle, but we nursed her till the very end.
We hope this doggie will recover soon.
Get well quickly, little doggie.
