For those of you who missed it the first time!
GREAT NEWS! OWNER REUNITED WITH PET STOLEN FOR DOG MEAT TRADE!
Kent was snatched from outside his home and hurled into a truck with hundreds of other terrified dogs. All were destined for torture and slaughter as part of Thailand’s illegal dog meat trade. But it was not to be that day…
Acting on information from Soi Dog’s undercover investigators, the Royal Thai Police stopped the truck on its way to neighbouring Vietnam and all dogs were rescued. Kent was transferred to the Soi Dog funded shelter at Buriram, along with the other dogs that had survived being crushed in cages for days on end without food or water.
Sometime later, a lady from Surin province was reading an adoption appeal for the dogs rescued from the dog meat trade. She looked a little closer. There was a dog that looked so like her little boy that had been grabbed from outside their home that day.
The lady made contact with a Soi Dog staff member and immediately started on the drive to the Buriram shelter. Once she arrived, she was taken to meet Kent. That was the moment of a joyous reunion. Kent was her dog. He had survived the worst of ordeals and he was now reunited with his owner.
Our fight against the illegal dog meat trade goes on, as will our attempts to reunite stolen dogs with their devastated owners.
Below are some photos of Kent the day he returned home.
