It hurt to eat. I was so hungry and yet, every time I tried to swallow some food, the pain was unbearable. I was coughing all the time and quickly became very weak.

My name is Plumeria; a 3 year old stray dog who has grown up on the streets of Phuket, Thailand. I am one of many.

A kind local person who fed me regularly became very concerned about me and drove me to the Soi Dog shelter, where Dr. Jennifer took over.

I am being treated now for tonsillitis, heartworm and something called anaplasmosis, which is caused by ticks. I am a very friendly girl and I trust Dr. Jennifer when she gives me my treatment. I know she will make me better.

As a stray dog, life is unpredictable. Many of us get sick or are injured and there is nobody to care for us. I am one of the lucky ones. In my case, my treatment has been funded by some very special Soi Dog supporters.

These people are called the Emergency Response Team and without their donations, I wouldn’t have made it.

There are many more animals like me – stray dogs and cats that have nobody to care for them. They have lived their lives on the streets but when they become ill or they are injured, they desperately need help.

Just a few dollars a week could save so many of these animals and get them the life-saving treatment they need. Without this, they simply won’t make it.

YOU can be the difference between life and death for so many animals that have nobody else to turn to.

Thank you.
