The Shelter feeds, cleans and gives medical attention to approximately 250-300 animals. The cost of food per month is RM2,500 - RM3,000. With more animals being dumped, there will be less food to go around. The cost of medical services to the Pets is approximately RM6000 per month. 90% the money comes from public donations and fund raising. The Shelter has NO income. Before Surrendering Your Pets, understand that : The Shelter is not a boarding house. With limited funding and space, we try our best to feed the animals and give them a place to sleep. With 250-300 animals, this is a challenge. Imagine yourself keeping your pets clean everyday, then multiply that by 300 animals There is a high chance your surrendered pets will contact diseases at the Shelter. We try our best to keep the Shelter clean, but animals with diseases join the Shelter everyday. As much as we can, we will attend to the sickest ones. But once the animals infected with certain disease they will be Put To Sleep due to the risk of virus spreading out at the shelter. The Put To Sleep rate is 50% and Natural Death rate is 30%, which mean every 10 animals brought in, 5 of them will be Put To Sleep and 3 of them will naturally die by diseases or even stress Please consider your Pet’s current environment, and explore other options if possible.
