Cat trapped on a tree-top, somewhere along Woodlands Drive

Just last Fri (Sep 5, 2014) night, we were alerted to a black/white tabby seen perched on the branches of a tall tree somewhere in Woodlands. The cat was suspected to be in distress, as related to us by our informers.

Our rescue pair, upon arriving at the scene, with the help of our informers, some strategy and a long ladder, managed to climb to almost where the cat was stranded. About 45 minutes later, the rescue officers succeeded in reaching the cat, now within reach of the fully extended catch pole. The cat could then be hauled away from the branches as one officer clutched on to it, then lowering it safely to the ground after he has descended the ladder.

Alas, the cat leapt out of his hands as he reached the ground, and made off into the darkness. The cat didnt sport a collar, and from our informers observations too, had to be a community cat.

Kudos too to Mr Azril and Ishak, our informers, for alerting us to the cats distress as well as lending a helping hand, or two, to the rescue operations, for helping the cat to reach the ground safely in the end.

Members of the public can, likewise, help us to help any injured, sick and/or distressed animal, by calling our 24-hour emergency hotline at 62875355 extension 9, and clear emergency cases would be given priority.
