EVERY SINGLE DAY, THE “GRAVY TRAIN” MUST ROLL

Morning rounds begin just after sunrise in Avsallar, Turkey where hundreds of street cats and dogs are about to face another day of searing heat and a hard search for food and water. Volunteer Manuela Wroblewski is ready for them. With a shopping cart that she refills frequently throughout the day, she dishes out food to the animals found under cars, in abandoned shops and even on rooftops. Many of them know her now and come running when they see her cart.

Here you see Sara, a volunteer who has flown in from abroad to help. She is one of a handful of amazing women who have given one or two weeks of their precious vacation time, to help out here.

The Harmony Fund is trying to spay/neuter more of the animals and adoptions to the United States and Canada are ongoing, but there is so much to be done here.

Each month the Harmony Fund contributes $2,000 to the feeding of animals here and during August we had a harder time than usual due to the summer vacation season when donations slow to a trickle.
