SPCA Against Instalment Plans That Objectify Animal Lives

In SPCA’s letter to TODAY’s “Voices” editor, published in today’s (21 Aug, 2014) edition, we have reinforced the relevance and importance of responsible pet ownership. Singaporeans should not engage in impulse buying which the formerly available UOB interest-free instalment plan would have facilitated.
Ultimately, live animals should never be a part of the credit card culture and not to be taken as mere commodities indiscriminately picked off the shelves.
We hope also that would-be pet owners would also ADOPT, rather than buy, their eventual lifelong furry companions.
