SPCA rescues cat from trains tracks, & appeals for cats owner to reclaim it! (Cat sports a unique, studded, green collar)
We were alerted, just yesterday morning (August 19, 2014), to a cat seemingly rooted to a spot right underneath a trains rail at Fernvale LRT Station. The cat hardly fidgeted, but was conspicuous enough to be detected by the concerned informer and onlookers.
Our rescue officer, with the help of the stations staff, managed to remove the distressed cat from that spot and into a carrier, relying upon a catchpole. The cat, while appearing fine, was visibly terrified and was taken to our shelter. (We would like to express our thanks to our informer Mr. Richard and the Fernvale LRT Stations SBS Transit staff, Clarence and Rainer, who have helped immensely in the rescue operations.)
We are appealing to the cats owner to claim the cat from SPCA (at 31 Mount Vernon Road). It is a local, tabby adult cat wearing a studded green collar (see pictures here) with a distinctively short tail (though not a bobtail). Sadly, it is still looking troubled, and has been massively dehydrated and starved. We have been feeding it regularly the past day, and it is slowly regaining its appetite, though we hope the progress could be greater.
Keen adopters of this cat can call SPCA at 62875355 ext 9 to register their interest to adopt it (Please specify Fernvale LRT Rescued Cat). It may be released for adoption, and to a suitable, committed adopter, ONLY IF its rightful owner has not claimed it by this weekend (by this Sunday, 24 August). The cat is generally healthy, save for its current seemingly dehydrated condition. (If you are, or know someone who’s, missing a cat, see pictures here to check.)
