Punitha, Nandhini and I must have spent a fortune on smses and phonecalls this morning, racing against time to find a fosterer or adopter for the two kittens (the ones I named "Creamie and Crackers").

A very long story cut short, Devi Narayanan responded and said she would adopt the kittens.  Bless her kind heart!

More phonecalls to make the connections, and finally....

The kittens are now safe with Devi.

Devi's text message to me:

Wei Kien couple sent over the kittens around 1pm.  Estimated to be about 3 weeks old.  They had diarrhoea upon arrival.  I cleaned up and got them settled with Boy, the orphaned kitten I rescuer earlier.  Fed them and now they are sleeping.  Wei Kien couple are very loving people.  Not only milk powder, they supplied me with feeding botles, two brand new towels and a donation as well.  They are so concerned about the kittens and promised to visit them when they are free.

Well, all's well that ends well, then.

I suggested to Devi to send the kittens for a check-up at her nearby vet (within walking distance from her house), especially since they have diarrhoea.  The vet would be able to advise what's best.  Also, vets normally advise not to put new kittens with our existing cats, just in case the new kittens may have diseases or the new kittens, being unvaccinated, might catch our cats' diseases.

Many thanks to Devi, who, although already has so many cats, offered to adopt these two because she did not want them to be sent to the shelter.

A million thanks to Punitha, Nandhini and Mary, for going all out to help find a fosterer/adopter for these kittens.

True friends are those who will stay by you and help you in your hour of need.  It's not that these kittens were mine, nor do I even know who Wei Kien is, but the thought that two baby kittens would be sent to the shelter...that was what drove us to go all out to find them a safe place, temporary or permanent.

"When it is dark enough, you will see the stars."

(But only if we try hard enough!)
