How He Used It To Save A Drowning Kitten…..

When he was called to help a near-drowning kitten trapped in a storm drain, Police Officer Jamie Williamson had to be resourceful. The storm drain was full from heavy rain that fell the day before and the kitten was clearly tiring of trying to stay afloat. With no time to wait for the public works department to open the grate, Officer Williamson fashioned an on-the-spot kitten catcher to reach the water level 6 feet below.

In a stroke of brilliance, the Ithaca, New York officer borrowed a purse and then tied a string around the handle to create a bucket.He then began the tedious process of “fishing” for the kitten.

It took a good 15 minutes, but at long last, the kitten’s body was securely in the purse and Williamson raised him to the surface.

The thankful kitten is now recovering at a local shelter.
