Call it instinct or compassion, it doesn’t matter as these are just words that (only) humans are obsessed with, trying to explain the world in their terms.

Animals live in their own world, on their own terms, something we shouldn’t even try to judge or think we understand. This dog is obviously kind and is trying to help the dying fishes. That’s all that matters.

This dog is kind and so are many, many other animals. Keep it simple. Life is better that way.
