I have just received the sad news from my friend that the 2 Penang dogs will be euthanised tomorrow. Apparently, the decision is final. I hope this news is not true, or maybe there is chance of a reprieve, but whatever it is, we have to do the needful.
All that's left for us to do, all that we can do now, is to pray that these two dogs will quickly move on to a better existence. They had no ill intentions, they were only acting out of instinct. For that, I am pretty sure they will move on to a better state of being.
For those who willfully imposed the death sentence on these dogs, I have nothing to say about them right now, because I was taught that when we have nothing good to say about some people, we had better not say anything at all.
It is ironical, as my friend Chen said, that humans punish those who kill by imposing the very action that they deplore - killing.
Let's collectively pray for the 2 dogs.
And may humans one day realise that for every ill-intentioned action, they will pay the price. There is ALWAYS the choice of taking the high road, of being kind and forgiving.
