Yet another community cats life, from the Beach Road vicinity, has been taken. The latest feline victim, known to be a friendly, chubby cat, was found dead on the grass patch in front of the North Bridge Road power substation, last Saturday (26 July).
The cat feeders and caretakers from Beach Road, along with Cat Welfare Society (CWS) and SPCA, are urgently appealing for witnesses whom may identify the culprit(s) responsible for the necessary action to be taken against.
SPCA wishes to add that this is the LATEST in a string of incidences, in the area stretching from Blocks 1 to 7, and now 9, opposite the Golden Mile and stretching to the Kallang Water Way, of alleged cat abuses. Please see SPCA’s and CWS’ “Appeal for Information” images for details of the 6 (and now 7) cats found dead in this vicinity thus far, since 2011.
SPCA and the Cat Welfare Society wish to remind all pet owners too to keep their cats strictly INDOORS for their own safety from potential accidents or abuse. Also, cruelty to animals is NOT to be tolerated at all, under the Animals and Birds Act, and offenders will be charged in court.
