And it’s a wrap! Tents folded, props kept, Scrappy and Sunshine pampered for their herculean efforts, and everyone’s well-rested. (Photos of Scappy and Sunshine taken in real time – they’re having a snooze whilst it rains.)

Thanks and gratitude are in order for all who have made the ACRES End Animal Cruelty Carnival 2014 a success. Before we get to our generous sponsors, the Carnival could not have taken off without our dedicated volunteers giving their hearts and souls. Special thanks to our balloonists, avant-garde face painters, stall minders, cargo carriers, sticker pasters, and enthusiastic students of Chung Cheng High School! We simply adore our TRUE heroes – ACRES’ amazing mascots, Mr Mozilla Firefox, Captain America, Spider Man, and Power Ranger who weathered the heat – yes, they’re human! Despite perspiring bucketloads in their costumes, they resolutely stayed to the end to take photos with the beautiful people who attended.

ACRES (Animal Concerns Research & Education Society) is a pioneering Singapore-based charity and Institution of Public Character, founded by Singaporeans in 2001 with the aim of promoting animal welfare.

ACRES has six focus areas: Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation, Wildlife Crime Investigation, Zoo Animal Welfare, Humane Education, Community Outreach and Promoting Cruelty-Free Living.
