BATTERED AND BRUISED AFTER 10 YEARS ON THE STREETS, A SERIOUS INFECTION THREATENED MY LIFE�

I was born on the streets of Thailand. I have never known what it is like to have an owner. I have reached the old age of 10, fighting for survival every day.

I was managing to get by until an attack by another dog left me battling to survive, with no owner to help me. My name is Ricardo.

I was brought to Soi Dog with a very nasty wound on the back of my head, possibly an injury from a fight with another dog. It was seriously infected and infested with maggots. I also have two toes missing from one of my front legs, which the vets suspect is from a different, older injury.

Since being here, I am being looked after by Dr. Jennifer and Dr. Sai. I am on medication for the infection and my wound is cleaned and treated every day.

When this happens, I don�t growl or try to bite the vets. I let them help me.

This is my nature as a dog you see – you can abandon me, you can abuse me, but it will take so much more than that to kill my faith in you.

I trust you.
