“My work includes pretty much anything that has to do with turtles, such as nightly turtle nesting monitoring covering nine prime nesting beaches in Malacca with the help of passionate peeps (including local community members, graduates, interns and volunteers) to protect the turtle eggs from being poached, and ensure best hatchery practices are carried out to maximise the number of baby turtles hatched. We even successfully track baby turtles at night using a kayak!”
- Ooi Ying Cheing (middle), Field Biologist, Conservation
of Hawksbill Turtles and Painted Terrapins of Melaka Project.
