CACTUS-COVERED COYOTE PUP IS RETURNED TO HIS PACK

This poor little coyote got himself into an awful predicament when his attempts to free himself from a cactus resulted in deeper contact with the dangerous plant. Before long, the pup was covered in cacti and in serious trouble as he couldn’t possibly walk, eat or drink.

Initially, Sun City West, Arizona resident Gwen Maxwell came upon the coyote pup during her morning walk. At first she thought it was a dog, until she saw the coyote’s mom.

�The mother would walk all around that little coyote, and she must have known she couldn�t do anything about it,” Gwen told the local news. “Finally, she just laid out on the gravel on the courtyard and watched that little one and was there for quite some time before she wandered off,�

Thankfully, maintenance workers from a nearby golf course noticed the pup stumble onto their grounds.Jose Soto and Shawn Bordine immediately set about the task of saving his life.

Bordine saw the pup and his father reunite later that day.

�Dad gave him a couple of licks, they played, and then ran away,� Bordine told reporter Andrew Michalscheck. �I�m glad we were able to help, because I hate to see an animal down.� (Photos: Recreation Centers of Sun West)
