WHO USED MARKER TO MARK THIS DOG AS “FREE” AND LEAVE HER ON ROADSIDE?

A Benicia,California pet guardian got the wild idea to write “FREE” on the side of a household pet and abandon her on the roadside.

“She was scared, shaking, and kind of whimpering,” explained restaurant worker Shannon Bettencourt who found the dog last week. “I was heart broken. Nobody wants to see an animal like that ever.”

Bettencourt took the dog home and has named the dog Libby � short for Liberty as she found the pup the day before Fourth of July.

“The first night I let her sleep in the bed with me because I knew she needed something and she just slept on my stomach the whole night,” Bettencourt told NBC.

Libby turns out to be a very sweet girl who likes to play with other dogs.

“Somebody just kind of treated her like trash but she ended up being my treasure,” Bettencourt said.
